Between dimensions, materials and finishes (rod pocket, curtain tape or eyelets), find below all our advice to help you take the measurements of your curtains.
Sheers bring the final touch to your decoration. Fancy, embroidered or plain, discover our collection of tailor-made sheers and choose the model that will suit your interior. Their transparency is also essential, in fact the curtains must let light through while preserving your privacy.
Tips for taking measurements of your curtains:
FINISHES :
Before determining the dimensions of your sheer curtain, we invite you to discover below the 3 top finishes that we offer for our creations.
Slide finish: 3cm hem made at the top of the curtain into which the rod is slid in order to install the curtain on the window. The slide is decorated with a 2cm high head (which is included in the finished height of your curtain). We can adapt the width of the slide to the diameter of your bar. Do not hesitate to let us know when ordering.
Ruched braid finish: 75mm wide Ruflette that is added to the top of the curtain to obtain regular and uniform gathers across the entire width. This finish allows you to adjust the width of the sheer depending on the desired gathering effect. You should then add hooks so that you can hang the curtain on your rail or ring rod.
Eyelet finish: The most contemporary finish which offers a clean and straight fall. the eyelets are placed on a reinforcing strip which provides good support for the head. They are distributed evenly across the entire width of the curtain. The eyelets have an internal diameter of 4cm (external diameter 6cm), your bar must not exceed 3cm in diameter. Allow a space of at least 3cm between the top of the rod and the ceiling for the head of the curtain.
THE DIMENSIONS :
THE HEIGHT :
For the sliding finish: measure the height of the curtain from the top of the rod to the floor or bottom of the window. For this finish, the maximum height we can achieve is 280cm.
For the ruffled braid finish: measure the height of the curtain from the top of the rod to the floor or bottom of the window. To this measurement, add 2cm for the head of the curtain. For this finish, the maximum height we can achieve is 280cm.
For the eyelet finish: measure the height of the sheer from the top of the rod to the floor or bottom of the window. To this measurement, add 3cm for the head of the curtain. For this finish, the maximum height we can achieve is 280cm.
For these 3 finishes:
if you want your curtain not to touch the floor, we advise you to remove 2cm from the height found.
if you want a brittle effect, we advise you to add 5cm to the height found.
THE WIDTH :
The width of the curtain that you indicate on the site corresponds to the width of the curtain flat. It's up to you to calculate the amount of gathers you want on your sheer curtain.
For a sliding or gathering braid finish: length of the rod (without the ends) x 2
example: for a 100cm rod, you must order a curtain with a width of 200cm.
For an eyelet finish: length of the rod (without end caps) x 2.5
example: for a 100cm rod, you must order a curtain with a width of 220cm or 260cm, the widths for the eyelets being predefined.
However, these coefficients are given for information purposes only. You can absolutely decide to gather your curtains a little less or a little more.
