A little history

The embroidery of yesterday ...

The history of embroidery in the Cambrésis is closely linked to the presence of the Cistercian monks of the Vaucelles Abbey.
In fact, originally an essentially agricultural region, the Cambrésis gradually turned to textile production. Encouraged by the monks, the local peasants learned to weave in their cellars to occupy their winter days. There were no less than 400 looms in the region at the beginning of the French Revolution.
From the end of the 19th century, and in conjunction with this textile tradition, the Cambrésis has built up a real know-how in the mechanical embroidery industry with the appearance of the first hand looms.
Then thanks to the industrial development, at the beginning of the 20th century, the hand looms are replaced by automatic machines of the Jacquard type. Since then, mechanisation and computerisation have enabled the region to become the capital of French embroidery.
The field of embroidery now includes several specialities such as embroidery for clothing and lingerie, or as in our case, embroidery for decoration (embroidered curtains and macramé).

Equipped with the most modern machines, our company has been established in the Hauts de France for 4 generations and perpetuates the tradition of embroidery with great rigour and finesse.
Thanks to our articles designed and manufactured in our workshops, and in partnership with our French weavers and thread suppliers, we are proud to offer you exclusively French-made products.
As a leader in the decoration market, our company also has a tailoring service that can make your orders to measure thanks to our wide range of customisable products (blinds, curtains and ladies' curtains).
